Here at S&D Non-Ferrous, we are known for our selection of high-grade non-ferrous metal plate and sheet. A very popular non-ferrous metal choice for sheeting and plate is Bronze material. If you’re looking for Bronze plate, you’re in the right place! But which type of bronze sheet is best for you? We have three varieties of Bronze plate and sheet available: Aluminium Bronze Sheet, Phosphor Bronze Plate, and Leaded Bronze Sheet. Let’s take a look at all three in more detail…
Aluminium Bronze Sheet / Plate
Aluminium bronze sheets are popular for their supreme corrosion and wear resistance and high strength. Aluminium bronze alloy plate contains 9-12% aluminium and up to 6% iron and nickel, adding a high mechanical strength, making this bronze sheeting ideal for use in marine applications, as well as many industries including chemical.
S & D Non-Ferrous stocks aluminium bronze sheets in an American grade that is popular across most industries: C63000. This grade of aluminium bronze sheet is often used in applications involving heavy loads, and abrasive wear, thanks to its excellent resistance to friction and corrosion.
Phosphor Bronze Sheet / Plate
Phosphor bronze plate is known for strength, hardness and ductility, as well as resistance to wear, sparking, corrosion and temperature.
Our S&D Non-Ferrous CW451K grade Phosphor Bronze sheet is a popular choice in material for electrical purposes, due to its high-wear resistance, high-fatigue resistance, excellent forming properties and also due to the ease with which it can be welded.
Leaded Bronze Bar
Leaded Bronze Bar has excellent machining properties, medium strength, good pressure tightness and is not subject to dezincification. At S&D Non-Ferrous we stock Leaded Bronze Bar that makes for a much more cost-effective application than most other alloys. Because our Leaded Bronze Bar is so resistant to wear, it is ideal for many machining uses.
