We at S & D Non-Ferrous have a great stock of tellurium copper bars in CW118C, which is a form of free machining oxygen free copper. Tellurium copper’s machining qualities are significantly improved upon those of pure copper, due to the addition of alloy. The machinability rating of pure copper is 20% compared with tellurium copper at 90% and the electrical and thermal conductivity is only slightly reduced.
Tellurium Copper bars are formed through refining, melting and casting for the production of the final product, however it is crucial that all oxygen is removed in order to achieve a resistance to hydrogen embrittlement, and also stop oxygen merging with the tellurium that would produce a brittle copper.
We are committed to selling only the best-quality products to our clients, so we source our tellurium copper rods from UK and European manufacturers. To learn more about our range of tellurium copper, or for advice on the best products for you, please call us on 0121 525 5500.
